I would highly recommend "Remington Hot Springs". About one hour out of Bakersfield on Hwy 178 along the Kern River. There are three pools that are located next to the river itself and the area is kept very clean. Clothing optional area, with river rafters coming by at least twice a day. If you traveling East on Hwy 178 take the Borel Rd, which in turn will take you to the old Hwy 178. Head West toward Miracle Hot Springs-Hobo Campground. Make note there are no longer Hot Springs @ Miracle Hot Springs. Continue on past Miracle Hot Springs heading West for about 2 miles when you get to Remington Pass you'll see a dirt parking area on the right, turn in a park. Take the trail down to the river and the springs are located at the end of the trail. You can camp on top in the parking area @ no charge, or camp down from the springs about 50 yards. Good luck
