I've noticed on my Nevada map that there's a hot spring of some sorts at the north end of Pyramid Lake. Anybody been there? This is on the Paiute Reservation and they require a $5 daily permit to do anything there, which seems reasonable considering Pyramid Lake is an outstanding place and not well visited either. Tim

Yeah, there's a spring at the North end ( " The Needle Rocks") , but due to graffiti and vandalism the tribe closed this area to
    the public several years ago.
The wife and I were back in there about 10+ years ago and the steaming hot water came out of a steel pipe about 6" in diameter'
and into a shallow pool, but not very soakable.
Day use and camping are now $9.00 per vehicle ( still quite reasonable ) and fishing is excellent this time of year.
The East side by the Stone Mother and Pyramid are great for camping and there are actually a few hot geysers that come directly out of the
Pyramid. If the water is exactly at the right level you can get close and enjoy the warmth .
Turn off at the Wadsworth exit as if going to Bman and drive past Nixon and then past Marble Blufff and over the next hill past the sand dunes. Just over that hill you'll see Winnemucca dry lake on the right. At the bottom you'll see "Wildlife viewing area ( or something) on the
left. Follow the washboard road for 9 miles and you're there. This is our favorite "getaway for the weekend "spot.

Sounds like a nice post BM stop off -- too bad the public abused the other HS location... maybe worth working w/ the tribe...(?) Sounds like such a nice resource...
