Anyone ever been there? Just outside of Yellowstone NP in Grand Teton NP? I have a book here, copyrite 1993, that says the springs is use at your own risk because of Nagleria Fowleri, but states that "one or more people have contracted meningitis during the last 30 years in the soaking pools. However, US public health service does not have even one recorded case, and [the bacteria] has never been found in any of the official tests of the water."
I would like some more info if ya got it. Planning on going mid to late june. Thanks!

Re: Huckleberry Hot Springs
Mon, June 5, 2006 - 7:33 PMI have been to Huckleberry and it was fine although it was 10 years ago. still I'd keep my head above water and not get it into my ears or mouth. The book I have had a shitty map so it was difficult to get back to the car from the springs. It is one of the few places to get a soak in around Yellowstone.I reccomend the Boiling River which I think is better anyway. Huckleberry is better if you want the solitude to soak naked and has a nice hot shower, but the water wasn't as nice as the Boiling River. One of the best experiences is to hit the river at or before dusk and wait for the animals to come drink at the cool river while you are in the hot water which pours over the bank into the cool river. There are some nice areas next to the bank to swim under the hot water, like a cave.
